JSPWiki is developed with the help of

This is where you can download the JSPWiki if you want and get distributions and source code. Please put bug reports and ideas on their own pages, or here. If you wish to test out this Wiki, please see the SandBox --JanneJalkanen

License: JSPWiki is distributed under the GNU Lesser General Public License (see also JSPWikiLicenseDiscussion).

Features: Please see JSPWikiFeatures and why choose JSPWiki.

Requirements

You need:

  • Java 1.4 or Java 5
  • To know what a WAR file is and how to use it.
  • A Servlet 2.4 -compliant web server. For example, Tomcat 5.0 or above. JSPWiki of course runs on 2.5 -compliant servers, we just don't require anything more than 2.4.
  • A server to run your Wiki on. It does not have to be a very big server: JSPWiki has been run on a 266 MHz Pentium II with 192 MBytes of memory.
  • Some patience (the setup is not as easy as I would like it to be)
  • If you want to use the mailing capabilities in Log4J, you need JavaMail and the Java Activation Framework libraries.

Installation

The installation instructions can be found from the package, as a file called 'README'. See also InstallingJSPWiki, or http://doc.jspwiki.org/2.6.

Download files

Current stable release : 2.6.3 [1]

Download this if you don't like living on the bleeding edge. This is the recommended version to start with.

Latest test : (Version 2.8.0-alpha-1) [2]

This is the first alpha release of JSPWiki 2.8. Alpha means "do not use for production", but please do test this version so that we can release it. Any bugs should be filed in the JIRA, under version "2.8".

30-Jun-2008: JSPWiki 2.8.0-alpha-1 package (7076 kB) (GPG signature). Source code (14704 kB) (GPG signature). See also ReleaseNotes, ChangeLog, and README.

The latest cutting-edge code of JSPWiki : (Version 2.7.0-svn-37) [3]

JSPWiki 2.5 and higher requires a servlet 2.4-compatible application server that supports JMX, such as Apache Tomcat 5.5. Read about the new features of JSPWiki 2.6.

This code is directly from Subversion. You may either compile it yourself (see BuildingJSPWiki), or use the already-compiled nightly build linked below. All the usual warnings apply: this is bleeding edge code, might not work at all, might destroy your hard drive, etc. DO NOT DOWNLOAD UNLESS YOU REALLY ARE A SEASONED JAVA DEVELOPER OR OTHERWISE FEELING ODD.

More specifically, please understand that many things might be broken in this release. Therefore it is a good idea to post patches on the mailing list instead of filing a bug report.

We do nightly builds for those who don't want to roll their own packages. The latest one is always here, or you can use the links below to get it directly. The version number is bumped only if there is a functionality change, so don't worry if the file looks different even if the version number is the same - it was probably just a typo fix in the comments or something.

Pic/update.png Nightly: JSPWiki-latest.zip (SHA1 digest). See also ReleaseNotes, ChangeLog, and README.

It is also possible to access the SVN server directly.

If you need the war file from your Ant build, you have to add the war option into the ant command. Edit build.bat / build.sh. You will need the war for WebSphere Application Server, with Tomcat you can do without.
